NEWS

- RiadaButton A Hit!

RiadaButton, Riada's new product for creating interactive web page buttons, has been given a great reception by both customers and review sites alike, earning a four star review from the pre-imminent software review site PCWin, and scoring four cows from TUCOWS, one of the best software distribution sites on the Internet, just to name a few. PCWin describes RiadaButton's affect on web pages as "Your users will notice and like the improvements, while your competitors will enviously wonder how you did it...Get this program and let the fun\profits begin" and says of other button products "...none of them come close to what RiadaButton offers". - New Products and Free RiadaHeadline Update Coming Soon

1999 will see a number of new web development tools released by Riada that make the process of incorporating dynamic, sophisticated multimedia features into web pages quick, simple and affordable. In addition, an update to one of Riada's most popular products, RiadaHeadline, is tentatively expected early in the new year.

In response to customer feedback and suggestions, RiadaHeadline will contain a number of new features including the ability to incorporate images and audio into headlines. The friendly design environment will have also been updated, making this powerful product even easier to use. The new version of RiadaHeadline will be available to existing registered RiadaHeadline customers at no charge.

Release of new Riada products and the RiadaHeadline update will be officially announced in forthcoming issues of ClubRiada, so stay tuned!

Winners of Gold awards each receive a free registered copy of any current Riada software title of their choice, and a link to their site and a congratulatory note is also published on the *FRONT PAGE OF THE RIADA WEB SITE*. All winners receive either Gold, Silver or Bronze trophy images to display on their Riada enabled web site, plus the web sites of Silver and Bronze winners are highlighted in the ClubRiada section on the Riada web site. Submissions for both Hints/Tips and RiadaGallery are eligible and entries are assessed in terms of originality, usefulness and style with which Riada products are used.

- RiadaHeadline: Reading and Displaying Dynamic Data From A File - Gold trophy winner submitted by GrandNet LLC http://www.grandnet.com

As part of a system for online publication of local newspapers provided by CityPapers.com, news editors can enter new articles by simply cutting and pasting content to a form field. They are given the option of having the story headline display in RiadaHeadline on the home page of the site. Using ColdFusion, selected headlines and url information are written to a database. This file is used to generate a text file with the current headlines whenever new stories are entered. RiadaHeadline reads from this file and displays the headlines enabled as links to the full story if the visitor clicks on the headline. Editors have no need to learn any code, they simply choose yes or no at the time the story is entered. You can see the system in operation at http://www.spooneradvocate.com where it has been in use for several weeks.

Show off your Riada enabled web site to the world by submitting it to RiadaGallery. A page of links of RiadaGallery submissions will be maintained under the Info section of the Riada web page along with an archive of back issues of ClubRiada. This month's RiadaGallery submissions include:
